Antique Art Deco Era (1929) Sterling Silver Sugar Cube / Ice Cube Tongs
These antique tongs are made of fully hallmarked Sterling silver and date from 1929. The tongs would originally have been made as sugar cube tongs, but could also be used as tongs for small ice cubes.
The tongs measure 9cms length and weigh 16.4g
The tongs are hallmarked with the lion passant (for Sterling silver) along with hallmarks showing that they were made in Birmingham in 1929. There is a maker's mark of 'JGLtd'
These tongs are 95 years old and are in very good condition for their age, with no damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear.
