Antique Victorian / Edwardian Silvertone Watch Chain With Fob / Seal /Watch Key
This antique watch chain dates from the Victorian or Edwardian era and is made of a silver coloured metal (not silver). The watch chain has belcher style links and is set with a silvertone fob / seal / watch key. The base of the watch key is set with an amber coloured paste which could be engraved with initials (to form a seal). The end of the watch chain is set with a dog clip clasp with a swivel end.
The watch chain measures 34cms in length (just under 13.5”) and it weighs 29.3g (including the fob). The fob itself measures 3.9cms length
There are no hallmarks; the chain is made of a silver coloured metal (not silver)
This antique watch chain is around 120 - 160 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age and general wear / use. The dog clip is in very good condition with just the right tension to the opening / closing mechanism. The paste watch key terminal is in very good condition. The end of the watch key (that would do the winding) is a little mis-shapen, meaning that it may no longer be able to fit to a winder correctly.
